Taiwan Jia You! (Taiwan Rise Up!) The balloons with our PEACE PRAYER went up to the sky.Peace is the theme of our Mid-Autumn Moon Festival Celebration this year. We asked the women to remember the flood victims in southern Taiwan. They wrote the prayer in a dove shaped paper and tied it up to the balloons. Around 20 women showed up to participate. We had Karaoke singing contest and barbecue. Some men who are friends of the women also came and they assigned themselves to the barbecue pit! Soon as we put the food out, everybody grab their barbecue sticks and put it in the fire! Everyone went home so happy taking “yue bing” (moon cakes) and pomelo.
After the party, the moon was shining so intense in the peaceful and calm sky. 2 October 2009
